The things they say...

I have been given some maternity belts to help with the strain that this pregnancy is putting on my pelvis. Duncan had one look at it poking out the top of my trousers and remarked that it looked like a nappy. Kerry pops round to drop off her guineas and George informs her.. 'Mummy got a nappy on!' Little terror!!!
He also says 'mine' instead of 'my', giving him a little German sound. Ted climbed up him the other day, while George shouted 'mine arm, mine arm!!' Its so so funny.

At dinner, Lucy was pleading her case to stay up as late as Amelia, so Amelia cries indignantly 'She's trying every trick in the book!' Lucy looked at her witheringly and said 'I havn't got a book!' and neither of them could understand why Duncan and I creased up!!!!

Bedtime threats

We obviously use bedtimes as a source of discipline a lot during the day. Amelia was just mean to Lucy and was sent out of the room, George followed and told her 'Bedtime 7 o'clock for you Me-La!!' We have all collapsed laughing, the little monkey!!

Grafitti

Amelia walks into our bedroom, full of indignation, 'Mummy, someone has written in crayon on the dressing up box, and it wasn't me!! Lucy is lying and says it wasn't her!!'
I walk into their room to see Lucy staring at me defiantly in complete denial. Amelia walks to the dressing up box and points to the grafitti. 'It says AMELIA mummy but i didn't write it, i can prove it'. Lucy is still looking all innocent so Amelia adds 'Its written BACKWARDS Mummy, i never write backwards, you know Lucy does!'
I look at Lucy, whose face is slowly going red. I should have told her off but it was so ridiculous to grafitti backwards..that we all burst into laughter. The little rat. She later confessed she had done it, but didn't write 'Amelia' to get her into trouble, she just wanted to write it!! Hmmmmmmm

Today was her 5th birthday, where have the years gone?? She has had a fabulous day and has been spoilt rotten, I asked them to sit on the settee so i could get a picture of all my beautiful children, and the cheeky wotsit answered, 'but what about George and Amelia??'

Amelia had a special 'gifted and able' lesson after school, problem solving. She loved it. So very proud of how hard she tries at school

The boy has been on fine form, he is loving Duplo at the moment, and is really good at building cars!! Though if it breaks, we have to 'fix it' for him. He is so cheeky and self aware, pulls faces to show off and gives kisses to get his own way. He is a nightmare in the kitchen though, tonight he carried half of lucys cake on its plate into the lounge. He takes random bites out of fruit and tries to sneakily eat it, he once nabbed a tin of sweetcorn from the fridge and sat silently on the settee eating it!! Monkey!!

poor lucy

poor Lucy has had a nasty reaction to penicillin. She was taking it for another ear infection and on the sixth day came out in a rash. The rash turned into hives and covered her little body. She was so brave and got on with it. She went to school so we could see her in her first play, the nativity. She was a fire dancer, and so cute with it she waved at us proudly and flicked her flames about.
the girls are already massively excited about Christmas and i cant wait too!!

Cheeky boy!!

The other day, George thinks he has snuck out of the kitchen with a pack of bread rolls. I followed him into the lounge. He has taken apart his toy broom and is using the handle to attempt to stab the pack open!!! The guilt on his face when i busted him was priceless! He has also discovered that he can get on to the nest of tables next to the tv stand. He knows he isnot allowed to.....but he does it anyway,!!

Another of his current faces is to go in the garden. Wave hello to the fish and go and wave hello to the guineas, especially if he can get the cage open. Cutest thing is, he walks up the path waving even before he gets there, he enjoys it so much!!

Lucy's first day at school

Yesterday was Lucy's first day. She was so excited and couldn't wait to get there and be like her sister. It wad completely different to playschool, which she didn't. Ever really want to go to!! We had to wait about after dropping off Amelia at her class and Lucy went to talk to the other girls, when the time came to go in, we said goodbye at the door and she strode in like she had been doing it for years!! She didn't even say hello to her teacher, she just walked over and put her book bag in her tray and went off to play. It was a mixture of pride, relief and a little sense of loss, so of course, i cried!!! She was only there for two hours but she was full of it afterwards and absolutely loved it. Poor old George was a bit lost without her and stuck to me even more than usual!!
I can't see that she will have any problems with school, she will love it just like Amelia x
