We have had a great Christmas so far, the children have been spoilt rotten!!
One thing I just have to get down happened at Mum and Dads.
Amelia was going to the toilet and Lucy wanted to go - she was ttold to wait her turn or to go upstairs. She wanted to use the potty that was still in the toilet cupboard, but was told no. She decided to wait in the toilet with Amelia - there is just no shame between them!!
It went quiet for a while but then there was a lot of noise and some crying. I went in to find them both brying, Amelia holding the potty and covered in wee. It turns out she had told Lucy to go on the potty (as far as Luc ywas concerned - if amelia told her too - then it was ok!) and had tried to pour the giant wee lucy did down the toilet, but had dropped it all over herself and on her knickers and trousers on the floor. It was just so so funny - still laughing now! Their guilty faces and Amelia crying about the wee on their clothes. So so funny. The little monkeys :)

Meat
We have been talking to the girls about meat recently, they are asking where it comes from and how it gets out of the animal. I explained to Lucy one day that we have to kill the animal and takes its skin off anf cut it up to eat it. You may think it would upset her, but she was completely unfazed and asked which animals it was. I explained that its normally chicken, cow pig etc, but that some countries even eat horses. She went very quiet and then announced 'mummy, one day can we go to that country? i would like to try some horse!!!'
Then when we read Bambi a few days later and i had to explain a hunter killed Bambis mummy (to feed his family of course!) and that deer meat is called Venison, she straight away asked, 'muumy can we get some beniston? i would like to try some'
No vegetarians in this house!!

...its been ages. So so busy getting ready for Christmas. Everything is going so well. Amelia & Lucy are getting ready for their christmas plays and George is the happiest baby alive. He just grins, smiles and farts all the time!
Amelia was recently in the gold book at school for being a great role model in class! So so proud that I could have been sick with pride. She is doing so well at school, her parents evening was just embarrasing!!!
Lucys parents evening also had great feedback - just that she is a happy little girl who really enjoys herself.

Chicken pox!
Chicken pox appears to be over - in the end I think we got off quite lightly. George had a few on his head and round his willy, Lucy had a good covering over her back & torso and a few on her face and Amelia probably had them the worst, pretty much all over with some massive ones on her face. The really big ones on the girls were practically black in the middle and horrible looking. The girls could have itch-relieving gel and piriton and other than having a rough night each, were absolutely fine. George didnt even have so much as a rough night - just took it in his stride - you would not have known there was anything wrong with the happy little monkey! Lucy has got some nasty scabs pulling now - she calls each one a 'pock' as i guess she thinks she has chicken pocks, 'pocks' being the plural of pock! so cute!
He is at the stage where he wants to be stood up all the time, and just wants to put everything in his mouth - even though he cont properly use his hands to get stuff in there! I actually think there may be a little bit of teething going on - but we will see. Amelia & Lucy are still utterly fabulous with him - and he just adores them - his biggest smiles are for them.
Amelia has gone back into school well - she likes her new teachers and her reading has gone from strength to strength over the summer - it is amazing - so expressive! I also think she is liking the ammount of desk work they are doing - its more like proper school for her.
Lucy was fine going back to playschool - I had expected tears and a bit of a battle, but she goes in happily and enjoys it - though i still have to bring a treat for after! They are gradually getting smaller and less treat-y but to be honest, I am so relieved she likes it that I dont care what she eats after!!!

Chicken Pox
Jack came down with chicken pox while we were on holiday in Bacton - he had it quite badly, loads of spots and really miserable :(
Lucy came down with it on Monday when i noticed a few spots on her back - to be honest, if I hadnt have just seen Jack's spots, I might not have thought anything of it! Since then, a few have come out, about 10 in two days - she seems to have a very mild dose and is absolutley fine in herself - I caught her climbing the bathroom radiator at bedtime!
Amelia is desperate to have them and has insisted on some of the itch relieve gel on a 'spot' which has turned out not to be chicken-related. However George has three suspicious looking spots :( We think he might have it - just hope its as mild as Lucy's.
Amelia is back at school with her new class and new teachers and is loving it so far. There is more desk work, which she quite likes. She read her reading book in recored time with full expressions - just brilliant - I am so so proud of what a little star she is!

George
George has the windiest bum that i have ever heard. He is constantly letting out extremely loud rippers, which we all find hysterical - especially the girls. He is just such a happy easy baby. He smiles at everything now, especially his sisters, and is starting to be awake a lot more too. He is also massive - in age 3-6 months when he was 6 weeks!!!
Tonight, when they all bathed he managed to wee up in the hair all over Amelias arm and hair, which she loved... and I think Lucy was a little jealous!
The summer holidays have gone far too quickly - Amelia is back at school on Tuesday :( I just trimmed her hair and ended up taking off a few inches as she wouldnt stand still ... she looks like a big girl now - i cant believe she is going to be in year 1.
LUcy will be back at playschoool too - i just hope George wont be asleep when she isnt around or i may have to do housework!!!

More about George
We have had George for 4 weeks now - time has flown by in some ways - but in other ways it seems like we have had him forever. He is such a chilled, easy baby. The only struggle he has is a little wind of an evening - but he rarely cries! He has settled himself into a little routine already , awake a little in the morning and early evening ... but mostly sleeping otherwise. He spent three weeks in our bed, but is gradually integrating into the cot (until I am knackered and just get him back in our bed for the night feed and fall asleep with him!
He has the cutest face, pulls the funniest expressions and has the windiest bum I have ever heard in a baby. He is smiling already and Amelia and Lucy utterly adore him - wanting to hold him, help change his bum and generally include him in everything - even if he is asleep. He was covered in stickers today ..and the other morning they sat on the floor to show him their colouring as they did it so he wouldnt be left out!!
Duncan now has two weeks off work - its perfect timing as I feel fine, Amelia is off school and we have two weeks to spend having fun as a family!

George
George Duncan Wall was born at 2.08 pm on Friday the 29th of June, weighing 9lb 12oz.
As his head was delivered I reached down and touched his face and he started crying before the rest of him came out. The moment that they put him on me I could hear Duncan saying 'Its a boy , Its George!' was one of the most surreal moments of my life - not only that he had come naturally, but that he is a boy!
The girls are being utterly fabulous with him - they genuinely adore him and want to hold him all time. When they came to visit us in hospital they were so excited - Amelia's first action though was to try to look at the milk coming out of my boobs - and when I explained it only comes out when George sucks it - she then asked how big my miffy now is!!! They find it utterly hysterical when he wees and poos and take great delight in tucking his willy down before his nappy is done up. He got in the bath with them after weeing all over himself during a nappy change and they could not have been more impressed.
He is a very chilled baby - feeds a lot and already has quite a few funny little habits .. fusses constantly when feeding on the left and insisting on rolling on his side and sleeping as close as he possibly can to me. He is just wonderful. I honestly thought he was a girl, but now I cant imagine not having him.
I am beyond happy.

Commando
We had Sydney's Birthday party a coupla weeks ago. We all went - Lucy didnt like the entertainer (only cos she was a little loud - she soon joined in) and so Duncan cuddled her outside the entrance. Amelia and I went to check she was ok when I noticed a little bit of bottom peeking out from under Lucys dress!! I asked Lucy if she had knickers on and she cheekily replied 'no. Im Commando!' The cheeky rat had left them at the top of the stairs after a last wee before we left!! She was incredibly pleased with herself!
Luckily Freya had some spare knickers so she didnt flash too many people. Amelia found the whole thing very amusing and keeps threatening to try it too - what rats!!

Sick Children and Mud
The girls have been ill for a week. Last Monday Lucy developed tonsilitis, missed play school and was unwell for a few days. Then Amelia finished school early with an upset tummy and over the next few days developed a virus of high temps, sickness, tummy cramps and a rash. The last few days, she was fine, and only had symptoms of an evening. Just waiting for all evidence of it to disappear and then she can go back to school.
They have been enjoying the days off together though - but were going a bit stir crazy today. As it was the first day in over 2 weeks that it wasnt raining - we went out the back of the estate to find mud, puddles and some ponies. Well - we found them all. Enough mud to cover them, puddles deeper than Lucy's wellies and a field of ponies, with one that even came to say hello. They were (stupidly) wearing new dresses I had made them and I could see them getting them stained and ruined so made them tuck them in their knickers!!
We also picked approx 50 dandelions for Fluffy and Strawberry and I have promised we can go back at the weekend in old clothes and get covered in mud - hope it doesnt all dry out!

Tonsilitus
Well its typical - Dunca goes away for two nights - so something happens! Lucy is ill. She was poorly Monday .. it was meant to have been her first playschool day - but by 11.30 she was asleep on the settee ... she was very hot and bothered when she woke up and so at bedtime we gave her some medicine - which prompted her to puke lasagne up all over our bed! The poor little thing was awake all through the night, feeling hot and ill and needing drinks. Poor Duncan and I couldnt sleep under our stinky sick duvet so i had lucys spare one over me and Duncan had to make do with a few fleece blankets!
Yesterday she perked up after some medicine but was soon ridiculously hot, red and rashy - she kept falling asleep and was completely lethargic so I ran her up the doctors to have tonsilitus diagnosed! Its viral so all we can do is keep her medicated to keep her temp down and keep an eye on her tonsils to make sure they dont get worse. She is a lot better today, thank goodness, and i hope the tonsils will go down soon.
Aside from that, Amelia brilliantly asked Dad why his trousers are pulled up so high!! love it! And just before Easter she was in Golden Book at school, for enthusiast writing about her senses. So very very proud.

Update
Its been ages since I have posted! Lucy had a wonderful birthday - had a great time at her party and got spoilt rotten! She has had two trials at playschool, which i stayed at, and she really enjoyed it - now i just have to get my head around the fact that she will be going soon :( Its gonna be hard .. but at least I am confident she will really enjoy it.
Amelia is still going from strength to strength at school - her reading is just amazing and her writing is really coming along too. I cant believe there is only one more term left of this school year!
QUOTES OF THE PAST FEW MONTHS!
Just a few that I can remember
LUCY: 'It was Amelia - Look at the face on it!'
'Strawberry needs a right old haircut'
'A big salami - you know, a massive wave that washes everything away!'
AMELIA: 'Lucy, you look so stylish, with such flair!'

Amelia's reading
I should have written about this earlier. When Amelia started school in September she could just about recognise the letters A m e l i a as she knew her name. She has since learnt the alphabet and ridiculously quickly learned to blend the sounds together. by Christmas she could read anything that sounded as it could be read phonetically, i.e hat, dad, car.
Now though she is learning to blend and recognize sounds together, like 'th', 'ch', 'st' etc. She can recognize several words and does not need to sound them out and tonight worked out the words 'morning' and 'market,.
I am so so proud. However, she likes to read wearing as little as possible, writhing all over the place with ants in her pants. She also likes to get her face incredibly close to the page, although she does not appear to have any eyesight problems, and starts every line with ... 'So....'
She clearly is not going to struggle in the reading department, I knwo she is bright but I did not think it would be this quick!!!
